Abstract

The heat and mass transfer model using volumetric heat transfer coefficient has been developed for fluidized bed dryers, to be able to determine the moisture content and temperature of the particles, the temperature and the absolute humidity of the drying gas versus drying time, and the temperature and absolute humidity of the drying gas along the dryer. The volumetric heat transfer coefficient is suitable for characterizing the heat transfer between the irregular shaped particles and the drying gas. Using the equations, the drying time and the height of the desorption zone can be calculated.
