Making the Most of the Three-Day Workweek

Pages 58-65 | Published online: 31 May 2007

Abstract

Data center operations may benefit from a three-day workweek to maximize use of computer resources and reduce regular and excessive overtime for both the employee and the company. Because a modified schedule requires fewer shift turnovers, communications between shifts and data center management can also improve. This article presents a case study of the implementation and administration of a three-day workweek in the data center at Hallmark Cards Incorporated.
