Achieving Optimum Mainframe Performance with Front-End Communications Processors

Pages 57-62 | Published online: 30 May 2007

Abstract

In football, a sound defense is necessary for a winning team, but a razzle-dazzle offense attracts more attention. In DP, local area networks, bridges, and gateways are that vaunted offense, and front-end communications processors provide the defense. The communications processor is slowly emerging as the key element in the MIS game plan.
