Propositions for Building an Effective Process

Abstract

Although strategic information systems planning has become an important management process in most organizations, planning methods vary widely. This article discusses 15 propositions that are essential to all effective strategic IS efforts.

Is lecturer and Nix-dorf Research Fellow in management of computing at the School of Computing and Quantitative Methods. National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin, Ireland. He received his PhD in applied statistics at Dublin University and has worked as a computer manager and as a management consultant and trainer. He is a member of the associate faculty of the Irish Management Institute.
