TACTICAL PLANNING

Planning the Integration of Information Technology into Business Curricula

Pages 49-54 | Published online: 31 May 2007

Abstract

The impact of information technology on business and industry is increasing steadily — in some cases, almost exponentially — as new applications are developed to make business operations more efficient and effective. To keep pace with this changing business environment, business school graduates need information technology skills. This article presents a planning methodology for the integration of information technology into business curricula and considers factors that are important for a successful integration. The methodology is sufficiently flexible and general so that it can be followed, with appropriate modifications, by any business school.
