Pages 62-63 | Published online: 13 Jul 2010

Abstract

As the cost of end-user computing increases, management's need for data on its impact also increases, and the task of assessing its value becomes more complex. IS managers must understand its tangible and intangible benefits and must assess its direct and indirect costs. This column discusses these costs and benefits and describes two approaches measuring the value of end-user computing.
