Strategic Information Systems: Current Research Issues

Abstract

To ensure the maximum financial performance of organizations in rapidly changing environments, the coordination between strategic management objectives and information systems capabilities is of fundamental importance. This article proposes a conceptual framework for linking these 2 elements and suggests 10 hypotheses regarding this subject that merit further investigation by MIS managers.

Robert R. Trippi

Robert R. Trippi is president of Sigma Research Associates. a San Diego-based consulting firm specializing in the development of decision support and executive information systems. He is also a member of the MIS faculty group of the School of Business and Management at United States International University. Trippi received his BA degree from the City University of New York and his SM and PhD degrees from the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management at MIT

Tamer T. Salameh

Tamer T. Salameh is a postdoctoral scholar at the School of Business and Management at United States International University, San Diego CA and is a strategic management consultant with Ansoff Associates. He received his BSc, MSc. MOD, and MBA from the International University of Europe in London and his DBA from United States International University.
