Seamless Systems Integration

Abstract

The transition from personal computers to business computers and from freestanding systems to mainframe adjuncts has led to a need for seamless integration of computers. This column describes this trend, identifies the benefits and problems that accompany systems integration, and discusses how major vendors – especially IBM –are working to meet this need.
