It's Not Business as Usual in the Data Center

Abstract

Because of increased pressure to improve cost performance and productivity, more organizations are restructuring their data centers, either by consolidation or outsourcing, in the hopes of achieving the most efficient computer operations. This column discusses why organizations that are considering a plan for the repositioning of their data centers should realize that such a decision changes the role that the data center plays in their corporate IS strategy.
