THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OF EXPERT SYSTEMS Overcoming Barriers to Commercialization

Pages 42-47 | Published online: 30 May 2007

Abstract

Expert systems extend the current commercial advantage of information systems from clerical to intellectual applications. As expert systems increasingly find acceptance in the marketplace, the focus is no longer on successful research, but on successful project management. Return on investment is a critical factor that must be taken into account for a successful expert systems implementation. A great deal of preparation must be done, however, before technology transfer can be carried out in an organization. This article discusses the process of transferring expert systems technology.
