How to Make the Most of an MIS Steering Committee

Abstract

The concept of the MIS steering committee has been around for 20 years, and although many such committees have been implemented, few have been considered successful. This is unfortunate, because a successful steering committee can help ensure the senior management involvement so critical to the success of MIS. This article examines the establishment of an MIS steering committee and how to ensure its effectiveness by avoiding potential pitfalls.
