MINIMIZING RESISTANCE TO TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE A Power and Politics Approach

Abstract

To minimize organizational resistance to implementation of an automated project management tool, a technology team at Apollo Computer used a power and politics approach emphasizing the role of coalitions in decision making. The team built a coalition favorable toward the new tool by involving key project managers in all phases of the implementation process.
