Abstract
Every other year, the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) sends its members a survey regarding member demographics, work status, and various other attributes. These surveys are then compiled to create a more generalized view of the current AATA membership. The surveys over the years have been changed slightly to accommodate new information; however, the bulk of the survey format has remained the same. The current survey added information regarding AATA membership category, the encouraging and discouraging factors regarding the AATA Annual Conference, and main theoretical orientation. The following report provides the various results obtained from the 1998-1999 survey. These data are presented in written as well as graphic form. Approximately 4,490 surveys were mailed to AATA members and 1,846 surveys were returned, resulting in a 41.1% return rate.
