Abstract
This report illustrates a long-term case study of a Filipino adolescent who struggled with identity formation and adjustment difficulties. The intricate connection of identity, adjustment, and culture for this second-generation Filipino immigrant adolescent is discussed in relation to the approach and application of art therapy treatment. An overview of the therapeutic process is provided, with emphasis on critical junctures throughout treatment. Specific art therapy interventions are highlighted in the process of providing treatment for complex psychological issues and problems associated with social and behavioral adaptation.
