Midcourse intervention in multiple sclerosis: an inpatient model

Abstract

A team approach to inpatient evaluation of a young woman with multiple sclerosis is discussed. Admission goals, including wheelchair, motor control, and communication system evaluations are described, as well as control of the patient's emotional outbursts. The outcome and implications of this intervention are discussed, including the social factors affecting this case.
