Abstract

This forum paper, based on an invited paper on longitudinal research for the Second ISAAC Research Symposium in Augmentative and Alternative Communication, discusses the application of longitudinal research designs and methods to the field of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Challenges faced by researchers employing longitudinal designs are discussed along with issues specific to AAC research.
