Sydney C. K. Chu
Sydney C. K. Chu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Cornell University and his Eng. Sc.D. from Columbia University. After some scientific consulting and adjunct university teaching in the U.S., he joined the University of Hong Kong, where he has been since 1978. He has published in the various fields of applied mathematics, computing science, mathematical modelling, industrial engineering, and operations research.
Man-Keung Siu
Man-Keung Siu completed his B.S. in Hong Kong and received his Ph.D. from Columbia University (1972). After three years at the University of Miami, he returned to the University of Hong Kong. He has published in the fields of algebra, combinatorics, applied probability, mathematics education, and the history of mathematics. Besides teaching and doing research, he likes popularizing mathematics among school children. For the making of a slide show for that purpose he received (jointly with N. K. Tsing) a 1981 CASME Award from the Commonwealth Association of Science and Mathematics Educators.
