Dean S. Clark

Dean Clark has worked as a musician, economist, mathematician, and scientific writer. His graduate degrees are in economics and applied mathematics, both from Brown University. He has taught at Roger Williams College, the University of Zurich (Switzerland), Hofstra University, and the University of Rhode Island, where he is currently Associate Professor of Mathematics. He is a jazz bassist, arranger and composer, and his compositions are occasionally performed in concert by URI jazz ensembles.

James T. Lewis

James T. Lewis received a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame in 1963, and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Brown University in 1969. In 1969 he came to the University of Rhode Island, where he is now Professor of Mathematics. His research interests include approximation theory and integration as well as combinatorics. When not working he can be found on the golf course, tennis courts, or walking with his wife.
