Notes on contributors

sarah-marie belcastro

sarah-marie belcastro: ([email protected]), aside from being a mathematician, studies, choreographs, and performs ballet and modern dance. Since receiving her doctorate from the University of Michigan, she has held an assistant professor position at the University of Northern Iowa and is spending the '01-02 year at Bowdoin College. She is both blessed and cursed by having a multitude of interests, including algebraic geometry, mathematical knitting, feminist philosophy of science, and paperfolding. She is known for her devotion to very active learning, to having a teal streak in her hair, and to Arzachel, her beloved feline.

Thomas C. Hull

Thomas C. Hull ([email protected]), aside from being a mathematician, is also an expert paperfolder, world-famous for his model of five intersecting tetrahedra and the modular PHiZZ unit used for making buckyballs and tori. Since receiving his doctorate from the University of Rhode Island, he has gleefully taught an insane number of classes at Merrimack College. He recently organized the 3rd International Meeting on Origami Science, Math, and Education. When he can find the time, Tom plays ultimate frisbee and goes ballroom dancing. Someday he'd like to have his own freeform/techno radio show again.
