Abstract

Professor Frisén discusses a number of important issues concerning surveillance procedures that are used in a variety of settings. Some comments are given here on the issues of optimal surveillance procedures in complex situations, the effect of the sampling scheme on the performance of surveillance procedures, the robustness of surveillance procedures, and diagnostic procedures that can be used after a process change is detected.
