Abstract

Joan Didion is the author of several books, including Play It as It Lays: A Novel (Farrar, Straus, & Giroux, 1970), The Last Thing He Wanted (Knopf, 1996), Fixed Ideas: America Since 9.11 (New York Review of Books, 2003), and Where I Was From (Knopf, 2003). Didion received the 2005 National Book Award for non-fiction for The Year of Magical Thinking.

Christine Axen graduated New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval and Renaissance Studies with a minor in French.
