Abstract

Editor's Note: Lois Jaffe, associate professor at the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh, and recipient of many awards in social work and mental health, suffers from acute myelogenous leukemia and is in second remission since June 1976. She has lectured widely in the field of death and dying and has conducted many workshops. This letter to her students was written after her last relapse. It shares powerfully the pain and anguish that she, her family, and friends are experiencing, as well as the strength and courage that they are exhibiting.
