Abstract
The Omega Foundation: A Colombian Experience in Palliative Care
In July 1987, after having worked alone with dying patients for 6 years, I traveled to England to visit, learn about, and stay for some days in several hospices (Sir Michael Sobell House, Royal Mars-den's Continuous Care Unit, and St. Christopher's), and to attend the International Working Group (IWG) meeting. The support I received from IWG and the encouragement given me by many of its members proved significant in the subsequent establishment of the Omega Foundation.
