Aging grace: Treatments of the aged in the arts

Pages 517-535 | Received 04 Apr 1988, Published online: 14 Aug 2007

Abstract

Faith, human relationships, and basic existential concerns are as important as physical and psychological well-being of the aged. Drawing heavily from the arts and humanities, this paper examines the nature of these issues, their special place in the lives of the aged, and ways that health professionals, laypersons, and family members can recognize, respect, and contribute to them.
