CONVERSATION AND COMMENTARY: VOTING FROM THE MARGINS 2016

Notes

Hispandering, as Zimmer and Carson define it, is “political pandering by elected officials or candidates seeking to win over Hispanic voters.” Interestingly, Hispandering relies on the problematized identity label, as Hispanics are generally people whose origins are in Spanish-speaking countries, and while Latinx are people from Latin American countries, including Brazil.
