Abstract
What follows constitutes a way of describing certain aspects of the musical experience. It is presented in relation to a body of musico-dramatic works, almost all from the 20th century. Its underlying major theme is that such compositions are influenced by what “contains” them (world-view, context, etc.) and which, in turn, reflect, in some manner, their respective “frames”, the modalities of such representation depending, of course, on compositional insight, preference and decisions. The view conveyed here thus amounts to a way of relating to certain musics after listening, reading, correlating and noting certain recurring patterns in the process.
