Journal of Water Resources Development
Special Issues: Governance in Mekong: Space for Dialogue
Dear Authors:
We would like to invite you to participate in a Special Issue of International Journal of Water Resources Development on Governance in Mekong: Space for Dialogue.
The Mekong River traverses six countries with diverse stakeholders holding multiple, overlapping and sometimes competing interests, often yielding tensions and conflict over the priorities and processes of river governance. Resolving these requires high capacities to assess complex problems, modes of ensuring credible commitment, and the application of broad knowledge sets.
We invite you to submit an article to this issue, and are particularly interested in any work on integrated and collaborative management, and theorizing about governance models of the Greater Mekong.
All the articles submitted will be reviewed by the Guest Editors before submission to the journal. Manuscripts should be submitted to by email to the Guest Editors for initial peer review. Publication of the issue is planned for early 2017. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in submitting to this issue; if so, an abstract is expected by Friday, 1st August 2016. And we need to receive your manuscript for review by Friday, 2nd December 2016.
At a later stage once submissions are agreed with the Guest Editor you will be asked to submit your paper to International Journal of Water Resources Development through the ScholarOne Manuscripts online submission site at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cijw.
Each article will then undergo the formal process of double blind peer review by two external referees overseen by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief. Submission to the Special Issue does not automatically guarantee acceptance, all articles will be reviewed in respect to the standards, aims and scope of the Special Issue and the journal. Copies of the reviewers’ comments will be sent to you in a decision letter, along with any requests they may make for revisions. The final decision to publish will rest with the Editor-in Chief.
We hope to feature you research in this issue, which we hope to be a showcase of exciting and highquality research on an important river basin as well as emerging socio-ecological trends. We can concurrently planning a conference on the same theme in Yunnan University in Xiamen, China and will release details on this in a separate document.
Yours sincerely,
