The dream between “here‐and‐now” and “there‐and‐then”

Abstract

The analysand recounts his/her dream now, and here, in the setting. Though a dream may be recounted repeatedly, the human situation in which the recounting takes place is unrepeatable. Each moment of the analytic relationship is unique, and the recounting is essentially relational. Even if the dreamer were to read from a written text, his/her voice and non‐verbal aspects would render the communication unique. Not only the recounting but also the content recounted may present relational aspects, manifest or latent, but of a relational nature different from that of the session “here‐ and‐now”. The dream dreamt belongs to the “there‐and‐then”, and its analysis, like every analysis, implies an objectification. The analyst reacts to the recounted dream, trying to objectify it in its “there‐and‐then” and also inviting the dreamer to a common task. Working on the manifest content, free associations and interpretations of symbols, they voyage through the time and space of the analysand's life. The recounted dream involves the “here‐and‐now” of the session and asks to be meaningful as a cue in the analytic dialogue (what is the meaning of recounting this dream at this moment). At the same time it refers back to the dream dreamt, to a “there‐and‐then” which, if it is not to remain “an unopened letter”, must be received as an enigmatic challenge and a window on the unconscious, open and ready to close. Thinking of an opening of the dreamer's unconscious the analyst may find himself/herself faced with an opening of his/her own unconscious.

Biancoli R. Der Traum zwischen “Hier und Jetzt” und “Dort und Dann”

Der Analysand erzählt seinen/ihren Traum jetzt und hier, im Setting. Wenn ein Traum auch wiederholt erzählt werden mag, so ist doch die menschliche Situation, in der die Erzählung stattfindet, unwiederholbar. Jeder Moment der analytischen Situation ist einzigartig und die Erzählung ist essentiell relational. Sogar wenn der Träumer von einem geschriebenen Text vorlesen würde, so würden seine/ihre Stimme und die nonverbalen Aspekte die Kommunikation einzigartig machen. Nicht nur das Erzählen sondern auch der erzählte Inhalt kann relationale Aspekte darstellen, manifest oder latent, aber von einer relationalen Art, die von dem “Hier und Jetzt” der Sitzung verschieden ist. Der geträumte Traum gehört zu dem “Dort und Dann” und seine Analyse, wie jede Analyse, impliziert eine Objektivierung. Der Analytiker reagiert auf den erzählten Traum, indem er versucht, ihn in seinem “Dort und Dann” zu objektivieren und auch den Träumer zu einer gemeinsamen Aufgabe einzuladen. In der Arbeit an dem manifesten Inhalt, freien Assoziationen und Interpretationen von Symbolen reisen sie durch Zeit und Raum des Lebens des Analysanden. Der erzählte Traum involviert das “Hier und Jetzt” der Sitzung und erfragt ob er bedeutungshaft als ein Hinweis im analytischen Dialog ist (was ist die Bedeutung des Erzählens diesen Traumes in diesem Moment). Zur selben Zeit verweist er auf den geträumten Traum zurück, zu einem “Dort und Dann” welches, wenn es nicht “ein ungeöffneter Brief” bleiben muß, als eine rätselhafte Herausforderung und ein Fenster zum Unbewußten empfangen wird, offen und bereit zum Schließen. Bei dem Denken an ein öffnen des Unbewußten des Träumers kann der Analytiker sich mit einem Öffnen seines/ihren eigenen Unbewußten konfrontiert sehen.

Biacoli R. El sueño entre “aqui y ahora” y “alli y entonces”

El analizando refiere su sueño ahora y aqui, en el setting. Aunque un sueño puede contarse repetidamente, la situación del hombre en la cuál el relato tiene lugar es irrepetible. Cada momento de la relación analitica es única y el relatar es esencialmente relacional. Incluso cuando el soñante este leyendo de un texto escrito, su voz, y los aspectos no verbales representan una comunicación única. No solo lo contado sino también el contenido puede presentar aspectos relacionales, manifiestos o latentes, pero de naturaleza relacional diferente de una sesión “aqui y ahora”. El sueño soñado pertenece al “alli y entonces”, y su analisis, como cada analisis implica una objetivación. El analista reacciona al sueño contado e intenta objetivarlo en su “alli y entonces” invitando al soñante a una tarea común. Trabajando en el contenido manifiesto de las asociaciones libres, las interpretaciones de los simbolos, viajarán a través del tiempo y el espacio de la vida del analizando. El sueño relatado involucra “el aqui y ahora” de la sesión y pide ser interpretado como una señal en el dialogo analitico (cual es el significado del relato de este sueño en ese momento). Al mismo tiempo se refiere a un sueño soñado “allí y entonces”que si no recuerda a una “carta cerrada” debe recibirse como un desafio enigmático y una ventana al inconsciente, abierta y lista para cerrar. Pensando en una apertura al inconsciente del soñante el analista debe enfrentarse con una apertura sobre su propio inconsciente.
