Sociologia dos Movimentos Sociais: Um Blanaço das Teorias Clássicas e Contemporâneas

Resumo

Este artigo focaliza dois itens básicos ñas teorías dos movimentos sociais. O primeiro relativo aos paradigmas analíticos que orientam estas teorías, destacando-se os conceitos e as categorías utilizadas. Nomeiam-se os autores que construíram as teorías clássicas e demarcaram o campo de estudo de urna Sociologia dos Movimentos Sociais. O segundo apresenta um panorama geral das abordagens contemporâneas sobre os movimentos sociais e seus suportes teórico-metodológicos, com destaque para América Latina. Partindo de um breve cenário de movimentos sociais em países latino-americanos, destacam-se os enfoques teóricos utilizados ñas análises desses movimentos. Sistematizam-se os enfoques em seis eixos temáticos: fatores culturáis, justiça social, resistência, saberes colonizados, aspectos institucionais das ações coletivas e a repolitização dos movimentos nos protestos transnacionais e ñas redes sociais de comunicação.

Abstract

This article focuses on two basic aspects of theories of social movements. The first involves the analytical paradigms that guide these theories, emphasizing the concepts and categories used. It explores the authors who built the classical theories and staked out the field of study known as the Sociology of Social Movements. Second, the article provides an overview of contemporary approaches to social movements and their theoretical and methodological support, especially in Latin America. Starting with a brief scenario of social movements in Latin American countries, it highlights the theoretical approaches used in the analysis of these movements. It also systematizes the approaches into six themes: cultural factors, social justice, resistance, colonized knowledge, the institutional aspects of collective action, and the repoliticization of protest movements and transnational social networks of communication.
