Microwave Heating of Dielectric Lossy Objects

Pages 63-71 | Published online: 14 Jun 2016

Abstract

This work deals with microwave heating of dielectric lossy materials. The heating pattern in a multilayered slab material exposed to uniform plane wave is obtained. To determine the temperature distribution, the transmission line analogy for plane wave propagation and reflection for normal incidence angle is used The lossy dielectric object is modelled as a cascaded transmission line tenniruited with a metal plate and the inner electric field is calculated. The temperature distributions are presented for two different objects with different radii.
