An Emerging Emphasis on Image: Early Press Coverage of Politics and Television

Pages 13-31 | Published online: 03 Jun 2013

Abstract

Prior to television's adoption as a serious political tool in the 1950s, the press devoted many column inches to speculation about the new medium's effects on American politics.
