Abstract

The present paper outlines the review of the literature cited on selective flocculation studies in general, for adopting it as a pre-concentration process for the beneficiation of lean grade ores. This paper describes the studies made on the possibility of using freshly synthesized cellulose xanthate as a flocculant, for the upgradation of Pb-Zn-Cu complex sulphide ore, obtained from Rangpo, Sikkim area.

The mineralogical investigations conducted to characterize the polymetallic sulphide ore indicated that the ore needs to be ground to very finer size (-75 um), so as to be further subjected to selective flocculation studies
