Abstract
Potential welding materials from minerals of the Kola peninsula including mining byproducts, mineral concentrates and products of their processing, among them refractory and non-ferrous metals, ferroalloys (Fe-Nb, Fe-Ti, Fe-V, Fe-Cr, Fe-Ni, Fe-Si), titanium slag, titanium dioxide, sphene and many others are shown. A specific programme for creating the production of new welding materials has been drawn up. In order to achieve the highest degree of mineral and technogenic resources recovery in the region it is suggested that they be actively included into the welding materials production by developing original electrode coatings and welding fluxes. Such products may be of interest for both domestic and international markets.
