Abstract

All business school faculties increasingly are being challenged to use technology to teach and engage today's student more effectively. In this article, we describe and examine the pedagogic foundations behind the selection of new technology tools and their implementation in an undergraduate finance course. The discussion focuses on the use of a course Web page and, more particularly, threaded discussions as new tools to help educate and engage students. We also provide preliminary evidence on the effectiveness of these tools.
