How to Write a Research Report for Journal Publication

Pages 132-136 | Published online: 30 Jul 2010

Abstract

This article explains and illustrates some of the important differences between writing a thesis or dissertation to satisfy requirements for a graduate degree and writing a research report for publication in a professional journal. As well, from this author's vantage point as a reviewer of manuscripts submitted for publication in this and other professional journals, several matters are discussed that can speed the review process and encourage acceptance of the manuscript—rather than the reverse.
