Abstract

To determine whether group writing projects are a viable alternative to individual projects in terms of reducing grading and improving student learning through peer evaluation and peer teaching, this study compared students' individual and group grades on unfavorable and persuasive letters. The results of four analysis of variance tests revealed that group writing projects are generally of a higher quality than individual projects. These findings suggest that collaborative writing assignments can be a valuable learning tool in business communication courses.
