Business Statistics as a Vehicle for Transcending U.S. Borders

Abstract

Internationalization of the business curriculum to prepare students for the challenges of a global economy is mandated by the AACSB. This article explores the potential for internationalizing the required course in business statistics. An examination of current textbooks in the field reveals a noticeable absence of problems, exercises, or applications dealing with international material. We here describe our experience incorporating international material throughout the business statistics course. Student reaction to this course was generally positive.
