Abstract
Curriculum designers for undergraduate information systems (IS) programs are faced with a dilemma—should the curriculum stress the basic fundamentals of the IS field, or should it stress the current “fad” applications? This article examines the question from the perspective of the four major stakeholders in the curriculum design process. The result of this investigation is a new approach to IS curriculum design. This approach takes into consideration the diverse goals of the stakeholders and balances the coverage of IS fundamentals with currently popular applications.
