Abstract
Why do employees leave the broadcasting industry, and what do they think about the industry after they have gone? The following report is one of a series based on People in Broadcasting, the initial report of a major research study conducted jointly by the Association for Professional Broadcasting Education and the National Association of Broadcasters. An introductory article, discussing the methodology of the study, appeared in the Spring 1962 issue of the Journal. Other reports appeared in Summer 1962 (on “Broadcasting Management”), Winter 1962–63 (“Problems in Finding Qualified Employees”), Summer 1963 (“The Broadcasting Employee”), and Fall 1963 (“Employee Attitudes Toward the Broadcasting Industry”). Glenn Starlin, Professor of Speech at the University of Oregon, is coordinating analysis of this study by any volunteers who would like to participate.
