Abstract
Studies of comparative broadcast programming are still fairly rare, with historical program trend studies being even less common. The following pages attempt the latter, focusing on the organization, finance, and audience for the major types of dramatic programs produced by the BBC and one of the West German broadcast companies. Dr. Bond is a lecturer in West European Studies at the New University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.
