Franco Mongini
Franco Mongini, M.D., D.D.S., Ph.D.
In 1963 Dr. Mongini received his M.D. degree from the University of Turin School of Medicine in Italy, and he received his specialist's degree in Odontostomatology in 1967 at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and Ph.D. in Rome in 1971. Dr. Mongini is lecturer in gnathology and pathophysiology of the stomatognathic system at the University of Turin School of Dentistry, where he serves as director of the university's Center of Craniofacial Pathophysiology. Dr. Mongini has published many articles and text chapters on TMJ and muscle function and dysfunction, mandibular motion, occlusion and craniofacial pain. He is also author of “The Stomatognathic System; Function. Dysfunction and Rehabilitation” and of “Craniomandibular and TMJ Orthopedics” (coauthor Dr. Wilhelmine Schmid). He has almost completed a four-year residency program for the specialization in neurology.
