ABSTRACT
In the first part of this series of two papers, the bursa of the tendon of the tensor veli palatini muscle was demonstrated and described histologically. In Part II, the symptoms and the process of diagnosis of bursitis of the hamular process is presented. Additionally, recommended treatment options will be discussed. The article presents three case reports.

Wesley E. Shankland
Dr. Wesley E. Shankland, D graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Biochemistry and Zoology. He continued his education and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1978. In 1993, he earned a Master of Science Degree in Anatomy, also from Ohio State. He maintains a private practice in Columbus, Ohio, which is limited to the diagnosis and treatment of craniofacial and temporomandibular joint disorders. Dr. Shankland is an active member in the following organizations: the American Academy of Head, Neck & Facial Pain, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the American Equilibration Society, and the American Association of Clinical Anatomists.
