Abstract

During this last decade of the 20th century, managers will have to deal with many technological and legal issues concerning the electronic monitoring of employees. Lack of protection from unauthorized monitoring in the workplace is slowly being questioned, and these challenges are sure to increase in the future. Perceptive managers will focus their attention on providing quality performance appraisals and feedback so the negative impacts of electronic monitoring can be minimized. Present managers will become aware of the legal and moral implications of electronic monitoring.
