Integration of Rule-Based Systems and Database

Pages 38-43 | Published online: 01 Feb 2016

Abstract

Knowledge-based systems and information systems utilizing databases have traditionally been developed separately. This paper outlines a framework called an integrated knowledge-data architecture to integrate their separate development. The paper discusses the problems in traditional knowledge-based system development and proposes their integration from an organizational perspective. The ANSI/X3/SPARC database framework is utilized to develop the integrated knowledge-data architecture.
