Viviana Díaz Balsera
Viviana Díaz Balsera is Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Miami. She is the author of The Pyramid under the Cross: Franciscan Discourses of Evangelization in Sixteenth-century Mexico (2005) and Guardians of Idolatry: Gods, Demons and Priests in Hernando Ruiz de Alarcón’s Treatise on the Heathen Superstitions (2018). She is also co-editor with Rachel E. May of La Florida: Five Hundred Years of Hispanic Presence (2014).
