Juan Cristóbal Romero (Chile, 1974) has published seven books of poetry, including Rodas (Santiago: Ediciones Tácitas, 2008; Rhodes) and Oc (Santiago: Editorial Pfeiffer, 2012), from which the following poems were taken. His most recent collection is Apuntes para una historia de la poesía chilena (2017; Notes for a History of Chilean Poetry). He has translated works by Horace, and teaches at the Universidad Diego Portales.
