Manuel Silva Acevedo (Chile, 1942) has published a dozen books of poetry, including Lobos y ovejas (1976/2009; Wolves and Sheep); Terrores diurnos (1982; Diurnal Terrors); Desandar lo andado (1988; Unwalk the Walked); Día quinto (2002; Fifth Day); and Lazos de sangre (2010; Blood Ties,). In 2016, he was awarded the National Prize for Literature in Chile.
