Notes

1 Alejandra Pizarnik has written a very perceptive essay on “The Other Heaven,” which is included in La vuelta a Cortázar en nueve ensayos (1968).

2 Some of the ideas on Sade and the sadistic configuration presented here come from Georges Bataille’s books mentioned in the text, and from Severo Sarduy’s reading of Bataille in Escrito sobre un cuerpo (1969).
