Fábio Kabral
Fábio Kabral is Brazil’s best-known writer of Afrofuturist fiction. He has three published novels: Ritos de passagem (2014; Rites of Passage), O caçador cibernético da Rua 13 (2017; The Cybernetic Hunter of 13th Street), and A cientista guerreira do facão furioso (2019; The Warrior Scientist of the Fierce Machete). Kabral, an initiate in Ketu Candomblé and son of Oxóssi, also has various published essays on Afrofuturism, Afrocentrism, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Mythology. He is active on social media platforms such as his site, O Lado Negro da Força, which centralizes Afrocentric heroes. Kabral also has given several talks and workshops on the topics mentioned above and creative writing at different venues.
