Paula Parisot
Paula Parisot was born in Rio de Janeiro and lives in Buenos Aires. She is a visual artist and writer. Her book of short stories A dama da solidão (2007; The Lady of Solitude, translated by Elizabeth Lowe and Clifford E. Landers, 2016) was a finalist for the Jabuti Prize. Her novel Partir (2013; Leaving) was accompanied by a series of performances and exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro and Guadalajara, Mexico. She has collaborated on efforts to disseminate Brazilian literature internationally, in collections such as La invención de la realidad (2014; The Invention of Reality). She is the creator, screenwriter, and presenter of A crucigramista (The Crossword Puzzle Player), a panorama of art in Latin America, which was presented at the Mercosul Bienal and was part of the official selection of DOCLisboa.
